Gardening is a knowledge-intensive activity. Over time you'll build this up yourself, but there are always new things to learn. If you're just starting out, then why not give yourselves a head start by learning from the experience of others? In these workshops I aim to pass on the knowledge that I have gained so far in my time as a market gardener.

A garden can bring you great joy & satisfaction, yet managing one can get quite overwhelming at times. However, it doesn't have to be like this! By drawing some lessons from how nature does things, we can make our task as gardeners much simpler.

The No-Dig approach follows exactly this logic. In nature, soil is never ploughed or dug up with a garden fork... and with good reason! By observing natural patterns & incorporating these within our gardening approach, we can build healthier soils. In practice this means less time weeding, less water needed & healthier plants. Ultimately, this also means healthier gardeners! Who doesn't want that?

This workshop takes you through the ins & outs of the No-Dig approach. You'll walk away with an understanding of the theory behind it as well as knowledge on how to go away & set up your own No-Dig garden.

Managing a garden can sometimes get a bit chaotic, but there are ways to avoid this!

Being well-organised is key to getting the most out of your vegetable garden, so creating a crop plan for the year is really a very good idea! It gives you oversight & structure so you can sit back & enjoy your garden throughout the year. However, this can be a bit of a puzzle & can require a fair amount of background knowledge.

In this workshop you'll learn how to create a crop plan for your own space, whether it be a patio, balcony, moestuin or full-on market garden! What should you plant in which season, which plants grow well together, how can you ensure that you have constant harvests? These are all questions that will be covered in the workshop!
